In no other museum in the world there are so many important works of art as the Louvre in Paris. As the largest museum in the world contains the Louvre 300 000 works of art and attracts a year about five million visitors. It contains works by many famous artists - but the most famous Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci. This painting is already on everyone's lips in children.
The main entrance is a magnificent glass pyramid. From there underground tunnels in different directions to the wonderful works of art. Until the French Revolution was the present museum but a palace in the residence of the French kings.
